What is the Japan Boys Choir Association (JBCA)

The Japan Boys Choir Association is working to connect the culture of boys’ choirs, known as “angelic voices,” to the next generation and the world.

With the declining birthrate and the shrinking of music education, the number of boys’ choirs in Japan and overseas is decreasing year by year. We want to face this situation head-on, protect the singing voices of talented children, and build a bridge between peace and culture through domestic and international exchange.Currently, our association is working to promote the culture by inviting and partnering with overseas boys’ choirs.

August 2023: We invited the prestigious British boys’ choir “Cardinal Vaughan Schola Cantorum” to Japan and successfully performed in Sapporo, Nagoya, and Tokyo.

January 2024: We hosted a performance by the Australian National Boys’ Choir in Japan and held concerts in Kyoto and Tokyo.

December 2024: We announce a partnership with the Poznan Boys’ Choir in Poland to promote international cultural exchange.

In addition, we support the publication of “Little Songs”, the autobiography of Georg Spiegelhofer, an alumnus of the Vienna Boys’ Choir, and are working to spread the history and appeal of boys’ choirs.

Since its establishment in 2023, we have invited outstanding choral groups from Japan and abroad, organized international exchange programs, and planned and managed various concerts with the aim of promoting and developing boys’ choral groups. We hope to provide a place where children can learn the wonder of music and develop a rich humanity through boys’ chorus. We also hope that their beautiful voices will touch the hearts of many people across borders.We will continue to make every effort to promote boys’ choral culture and international exchange, and we sincerely ask for your warm support and cooperation.
